MP: No appointments for professor emeritus in medical colleges despite DME order

Despite the earlier order issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) directing the government medical colleges in the State to appoint retired professors by bestowing them with the title of Professor Emeritus, no appointment has been made in this regard in the medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, the State DME had issued an order directing the Deans of the government medical colleges and dental institutes to designate all the re-employed faculties as Professor Emeritus. After that, the DME did not follow up on the matter. However, the DME Director has opined that it is open to interested persons to apply for the post to DME. He further said that no one seemed to be interested in joining the post.
