Meerut doctor, 3 touts held for conducting illegal sex determination test

In a recent crackdown on illegal sex determination tests, a team from the Health Department in Rohtak raided an ultrasound centre in Meerut on Tuesday. During the raid, a doctor and three touts were arrested in connection.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a major crackdown on illegal sex determination practices in Delhi led to the arrest of a radiologist and a tout at Arogya Diagnostic and Dental Centre in Dwarka. The raid was conducted after a tip-off indicated the centre’s involvement in illegal sex determination. According to Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, the Health Department received specific information regarding illegal sex determination at the center, prompting the local authorities to take immediate action. Following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the Health Department conducted a raid.
