Jaipur: Since the department of emergency medicine is mandatory for all medical colleges with effect from academic year 2022-23, Sawai Man Singh Medical College has stepped up preparations for establishing it in SMS Hospital.
“A team from the National Medical Commission has already inspected the facilities for medicine emergency department at SMS Hospital. Staff has already been deployed and other preparations have also been completed,” said Dr Ajit Singh, additional superintendent, SMS Hospital.
Dr Singh said the department of emergency medicines will be helpful in providing immediate treatment to needy patients by categorising them according to their condition.
The department of emergency medicines will have a casualty area to receive patients and facilities to triage and stabilise them. There must be adequate number of trolleys for triage. TNN
