Maharashtra Medical Council Announces Election for Nine New Members

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has officially announced the election to elect nine new council
members, which will be conducted under the provisions of Rule 8 of the
Maharashtra Medical Council (First Amendment) Rules, 2002.

This process provides
registered medical practitioners in the state an opportunity to elect
representatives from within their community to serve on the council. The MMC
has invited eligible candidates to submit their nominations.

Elections will be held at each district headquarters under the supervision of the District Collector on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

As per the notification,
all nominations must be submitted to Mrs Shilpa Kiran Parab, the Returning
Officer, Maharashtra Medical Council, by 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Forms of nomination paper
may be obtained from the Registrar, Maharashtra Medical Council, 189-A, Anand
Complex, 1st Floor, Sane Guruji Marg, Arthur Road Naka, Chinchpokali (West),
Mumbai 400 011 on the application during office hours.

Nomination papers will be
taken up for scrutiny at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, the 27th of February
2025 at C.D.E. Hall, 3rd floor, Govt. Dental College & Hospital, St. George
Hospital Compound, Near CSMT Railway Station, Fort, Mumbai 400 001 Maharashtra.

As far as withdrawal of nomination is
concerned, candidature may be withdrawn by a notice in writing signed by the
candidate and delivered to the Returning Officer, so as to reach him at or
before 15-00 Hrs. (3-00 p.m.) on Monday, the 3rd March 2025 to the Returning
Officer, Maharashtra Medical Council, Mumbai at the office of Registrar,
Maharashtra State Dental Council.

The voting shall be by
secret ballot and the election shall be held in each District headquarters
under the supervision of the District Collector on Thursday, the 3rd of April 2025
from 8-00 a.m. to 5-00 p.m. All medical practitioners whose names have been
included in the Electoral Roll should vote in person and bring with them their
Registration Certificate/Identity Card issued to them by the Maharashtra Medical
Council for facilitating the identification of voters.
